J. Devin Alsup, formerly a partner with Kerr, Ward, McLaughlin, Alsup & Miller, L.L.P. of Midland, joined the firm in January of 2004 and has been a shareholder since 2007.

Alsup is a general practitioner. His principal practice areas include general litigation, commercial litigation, family law, oil and gas litigation, collections, criminal law, public healthcare law, appellate law, corporate law and bankruptcy creditor law.

Alsup is a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation, a Member of the State Bar of Texas and the Midland County Bar Association. He has served as President, Vice-President and Secretary/Treasurer of the Midland County Bar Association and as President of the Midland County Young Lawyers Association. He is admitted to practice in all Texas state courts and the U.S. District Courts for the Western, Northern and Southern Districts of Texas.

Alsup is a member of and serves as a Deacon for the First Presbyterian Church of Midland. He has served on several boards for charitable organizations and frequently provides legal services to several non-profit organizations. Alsup received his undergraduate degree from Texas Christian University in 1986 and his law degree from St. Mary’s University in 1989.
