Richard E. Booth is a shareholder who joined the firm in 1998. His practice is concentrated primarily in the areas of oil and gas, both in litigation and non-litigation matters; commercial litigation; and mediation.

Booth has over 25 years experience in the oil and gas industry, both in the active practice of law handling oil and gas litigation matters and general oil and gas counseling, and as an independent in the oil and gas industry. He has served as lead trial counsel in such diverse matters as producer/pipeline litigation, royalty litigation, surface use issues including ground water contamination litigation, operator/non-operator litigation, insurance defense, and contract and deed construction litigation.

Booth has spoken at numerous seminars and co-authored articles on oil and gas issues.

Booth formerly served in the capacity of in-house counsel for Pioneer Natural Resources USA, Inc. and as attorney for the Midland, Texas, Office of General Counsel of Mobil Exploration and Producing U.S., Inc.

Booth received his B.A. in History/Government from the University of Texas, Austin, Texas in 1972. He earned his Law Degree in 1975 from Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas. He is licensed by the Supreme Court of Texas, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and the United States District Courts for the Western and Northern Districts of Texas.
